Our reading in the Book of Numbers for today, gives us a great example of how to bring other people into a personal relationship with Jesus and into the fellowship of our church family,

10:29 One day Moses said to his brother-in-law, Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, “We are on our way to the place the Lord promised us, for he said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will treat you well, for the Lord has promised wonderful blessings for Israel!” 30 But Hobab replied, “No, I will not go. I must return to my own land and family.”  31 “Please don’t leave us,” Moses pleaded. “You know the places in the wilderness where we should camp. Come, be our guide. 32 If you do, we’ll share with you all the blessings the Lord gives us.”

The declarations Moses made to his brother-in-law give us a great example to follow as we share our faith with others:
  1. Give your personal testimony “We are on our way…”
  2. Communicate the hope you have in the future“…to the place the Lord promised us…”
  3. Express your confidence that God is trustworthy “…for he said, ‘I will give it to you…’”
  4. Highlight the joy of Christian community – “…Come with us and we will treat you well…”
  5. Explain how they will be better off  - “…for the Lord has promised wonderful blessings for Israel…”
  6. Tell them the church needs their gifts – “…Please don’t leave us…You know the places in the wilderness where we should camp. Come, be our guide…”

People around you need Jesus. God wants to use YOU to bring them to Him. Never underestimate the power of a personal invitation. Your words matter…!

Blessings!
